In my knitting bag..... (well one of them anyway...!)
In this particular knitting bag at the moment is...... A summer weight little cardi, made in a wool blend, double knit yarn. I chose a rather lovely cardinal red and a flecked chocolate brown.
It is very cleverly knitted from the top down (Ive never done this before so this is a new one for me!) so I plan to knit in the red down to the armhole shaping, then switch to the brown. On the join between the two colours I may sew a mass of tiny crochet flowers to soften the contrast. I am also putting in buttons (from the prized collection) not the ties as shown.
The pattern was taken from RAVELRY.COM and was kindly offered for public use by its creator Stefanie Japel, a wonderfully talented designer! Thank you Stefanie!
I have to come clean and admit that I have to change colour because I need the last ball of the cardinal red for the border on the crochet blanket! BUT its going to be a happy mistake!
My heavy cabled yoke jacket has been put on the back burner as primroses, celandines and daffodils are calling out that Spring is here!
Time to start sewing my summer wardrobe soon too......
