Of water and deer and heaps of jelly....

Dwelling Outings

Earlier, when the day was nearing its end, the Fairy Shoemaker took the hand of her best beloved and walked down a worn path to the woods. A watery sun hid behind a veil of white...
They passed ancient trees, gnarled and twisty, carpeted in mossy blankets...
Icy cold waters rushed over leopard spotted boulders of granite...
The waters shouted loudly as they passed us..
They peeped beneath curtains of trees...
They looked into pools so deep that they couldnt find the bottom...
Swirling eddies lined the edges...
A large herd of red deer watched our passing...
A hundred eyes waited for the moment for when they would need to flee...
We saw a tiny world too, underfoot and overhead...
Full of colour and texture...
Small mosses no higher than a Fairy yet as large as a forest...
Ivy leaves no larger than my thumbnail creeping amongst them...
Trees with bark, peeling like the pages of an old book...
Cleft oak posts which seemed to have entire universes growing on and out of them...
Mounds and mounds of jelly holding the new frog spawn like seeds ready to rupture into life...
And her beloved looked like an Angel, which indeed, he is, her guardian angel...
This all made the Fairy Shoemaker very happy indeed...
