SPILLER Shoe, Made To Order

Regular price £189.00

Inspired by the self reliant, brave little 'outy', Spiller. He was a true Woodzie if ever there was one and avoiding being 'seen' requires silent, go anywhere footwear... He had the conker brown colourway shown... with leaf applique on the outer quarters, round toe shape and central lacing. A minimalist variation of our Thisbe shoe. These look wonderful for costume or everyday use, especially good for rambling. The lacing allows slight adjustment across the widest part of the foot and the instep. (updated image soon).

"Spiller, a socially awkward but resourceful young borrower from the wrong side of the tracks."
Mary Norton, The Borrowers

Our specially selected leathers are UK sourced, of the highest quality, and will wear to aged perfection. Many have a slightly antiqued pull up finish for extra faery appeal. They have natural scuffs, scars and variations across the hide, enhancing their already unique natural beauty. Some are repeatable, many are 'limited editions'. If your chosen colour is unavailable I will contact you.

APPLIQUE LEATHERS for hearts, buttons and leaves, and WISP BOOT TOPS are a different weight and are not shown on the swatch. Instead please choose from the descriptive list below and add the colour name to the CONTRAST message box:

black gold / pewter / slate / pale blue / teal / plaster pink / marmite / bronze / mid brown / pale brown / tan / mustard / tangerine / greenwood / darkest evergreen / rhubarb / deep cherry / darkest violet.

*colours are subject to availability and do vary ever so slightly from hide to hide, so do expect slight variation in colour.

How to measure

You will need a metric tape, a sheet of paper, pencil and a wall. Use the diagram and instructions below to take measurements. Add approx 5mm (minimum) to your foot length measurement to allow wiggle space and compare to size chart (see tab) to find the perfect fit. If you are ordering Made to Order shoes (subject to availability) DO NOT add the 5mm wiggle room please.

To take accurate measurements stand barefoot on a large sheet of paper with both paper edge and your heel against a wall.

A : WIDTH CIRCUMFERENCE
Wrap a metric tape measure AROUND the foot at the widest part, at the ball joint.

B : LENGTH
With pencil held upright, mark the paper at the longest toe. Measure between this mark and the edge of the paper (heel edge) to find your length measurement.

Postage costs are calculated at checkout and are based on the cart total, but typically shoe orders are charged at £8.50 per pair for the UK with OVERSEAS destinations at £16.50 per pair. Smaller items are charged at a much lower rate, with button orders starting from £2.50 P&P.

Barefoot comfort soling

We believe that your shoes should feel just like slippers, all day, every day, and our shoes do just that. With all leather interiors your new shoes will naturally give with wear, gradually moulding to your feet and offering glove like comfort.
We use a durable, highly flexible, cushioned, non slip soling made by the Italian company Vibram. There is no heel, just like Mother nature intended, with the soling offering a good level of bounciness and protection. When the time comes your shoes can be resoled by your local cobbler, thus extending the life of your beloveds and avoiding landfill sites.
